CONVERSATION & Tea

English!

Supporting colleagues is an important part of the teaching experience.

I’m in the office packing up my desk, today, when my soon-to-be-former colleague reminds me of her Conversation Class Tea Party. Colleagues show up and offer English conversation practice to language students who are learning social language vocabulary (scones, jam, clotted cream, etc.) and conversation (small talk). An earlier Community Service instructor, my South African Sister, started this Conversation Tea Party tradition. The students can relax and enjoy themselves while a lot of “incidental learning” is taking place.

BTW, the scones with cream were “‘da bomb!”
